Lily is a simple quiet girl who prefers the company of books rather than people. Later on she makes friends but her friends are adults though. So she is fairly well mature. However the way she deals with her mother's death is not good for her health. She blames herself for Deborah's death and seems to always be thinking about her. Lily has to let go of the past in order to heal and Lily has never actually mourned Deborah. She simply keeps tormenting herself by thinking about her mother all day long. Lily is however a eager student, nice and kind. But she's also a bully victim and allows herself to be bullied far too often. And later on she stands up for herself and refuses to go back to being a bullied victim who's a bookworm and has no friends. She also worries about Rosaleen because Rosaleen is black. And Lily can lie too convincingly. She should not be able to lie that convincingly just yet.
