I didn't really enjoy 'The Secret Life of Bees'. But people who would like more mundane books would like this book. It has a bit of difference to normal life but it's more mundane than some other books. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends because I didn't really like this book. It's really long and it has too much descriptions and complications. Since it's mundane, the descriptions are not really good for this kind of book. It would be better if it was about magic, gods and heroes though. Besides I enjoy books who are obviously fiction (fantasy or myth) so I may be a bit biased towards this. It was also so long and I like long fiction (fantasy or myth) books. I dislike long mundane books. And I really don't mean any offense to Sue Monk Kidd.
