Deborah
Lily thinks that Deborah is a nice, kind, caring and unfortunate woman who loves her daughter very much. However later when Augusta tells her about Deborah leaving her, Lily starts to doubt her mother's character. After awhile though, she calms down and sees it in a reasonable way. Her mother was after all a free spirit and she was probably so depressed that she most likely thought that she could've hurt Lily so that was perhaps the reason why Deborah left Lily with her dad.
Rosaleen
Lily thinks of Rosaleen in a fond way. Rosaleen is apparently a step-in-mom for her. Lily doesn't mistake Rosaleen for Deborah but Rosaleen is like a mother to Lily in her own odd way. Rosaleen is a bit rude and uncaring sometimes but she really loves Lily and that is evidenced many times. Lily and Rosaleen do have some fights but then again, every family, every mother and daughter have fights. Anyways Rosaleen has always been loyal to Lily and she actually had divorced her husband.
T.Ray
Lily doesn't really think of T.Ray as her dad. He often thinks the worst of her and punishes her and yells at her for the littlest of things. T.Ray was in love with her mother. After he proposed to her and she refused, only to marry him later because she was pregnant with Lily made his heart break. Life was cruel to T.Ray and he reflects it. Lily, later on in life, thinks that T.Ray does indeed care for her when he lets her stay in Augusta's bright pink house. Lily thinks that he was basically saying that Lily was better off without him.
Augusta Boatwright
Augusta Boatwright is a very much loved aunt to Lily. She's mature and unique enough to help Lily in Lily's childish fits. Augusta has a different way of looking at things and she's a devoted Christian.
June Boatwright
June Boatwright was a mean and disliked aunt to Lily. However later on she becomes rather attached to Lily and loves Lily in her own way.
May Boatwright
May Boatwright is a loved aunt to Lily. But she's more distant to Lily than June or Augusta is to Lily. She's still a beloved aunt of Lily and loves Lily just as much as Augusta and June does but she doesn't really connect with Lily.
Zach (Zachary Lincoln Taylor)
Lily connects with Zach in a way she isn't able to connect with others. Like Zach, she also has a supposedly impossible goal. She wants to be a famous author and Zach wants to be a famous lawyer. Lily's best friend is Zach but she also has a crush on him. They are almost in love with each other and Zach promises that he will come back for her when he's good enough and famous. But they aren't in love yet. They can be in love later when they're both ready and spend all their time as girlfriend and boyfriend. But they just aren't ready yet. They aren't in that level of relationship yet.
